NDARY LO

Born in Senegal in 1961, dead in Lyon in 2017.

Graduated from Ecole des Beaux arts in Dakar and chevalier des Arts et des Lettres de la République Française.

He is considered as one of the most important artists of his country.

Known above all for his sculptures, he created large message-bearing installations.

A universal advocacy for the human being.

His works suggest movement, bursts of energy and spiritual vitality.

Force and determination in long and sylphlike creations.

Inspired by Daptaisme, a contraction of adaptation and dadaisme, convinced that the human being never creates from nothing, Ndary Lo is part of recuperative art movement.

He mainly used iron: concrete iron, horseshoes iron, chains, knitted scraps to give birth to the Walkers, Orants, Giants, Trees of hope, Canoes of the passage or the emblematic Incompris.

His works are mainly belonging to private collections.
